Job summary

CSCEC Malaysia seeks a seasoned Structural Design Lead to manage structural design across the project lifecycle in Kuala Lumpur. You will coordinate with local C&S consultants to ensure timely design documents and authority submissions.

You will review calculations, drawings and submissions for BS, MS and local standards, monitor consultant performance, and drive value engineering to optimise structures and costs. The role requires a Civil/Structural degree with 3+ years' experience in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in civil or structural engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in structural design or design management in Malaysia.
• PE registration with BEM is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of BS, MS and PAM contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with local C&S consultants to ensure timely delivery of design documents and authority submissions.
• Review structural calculations, drawings, shop drawings and submissions for compliance with BS, MS and local regulations.
• Monitor consultant performance and maintain documentation for contractual administration and claims support.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design reviews and resolve structural design issues during project execution.
• Lead Value Engineering initiatives to optimise structural systems and construction costs.
• Provide technical support during construction, including clarifications and variation orders.
• Participate in design reviews, inspections, testing and project completion activities.
• Develop structural design standards, procedures and best practices.
