Job summary

AIS Malaysia seeks a Technical Director in Structural Engineering to lead from concept through detailed design and on-site implementation, championing innovation and value engineering on major infrastructure projects such as rail/metro systems and data centres.

The role requires a degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred), PEPC licensure, 20+ years of experience, and strong BIM tools skills (REVIT, AutoCAD). You will mentor the team and oversee scheduling and client liaison.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer licensure with PEPC (mandatory).
• Minimum 20 years’ experience in structural engineering.
• Strong BIM knowledge, REVIT, CAD and related tools.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysia and international design codes.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for structural engineering from concept to site.
• Drive innovation and value engineering in designs and methods.
• Oversee design and project management across multidisciplinary teams.
• Review and verify designs, calculations, and documentation.
• Mentor the structural technical team.
• Manage design and construction programming and scheduling.
• Lead bid management and tender processes.
• Deliver technical deliverables to project requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors through design and construction.
