Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing required.
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board and holds an APC.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical/nursing experience, preferably in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely and quality nursing care to patients.
• Provide pain and symptom management and psychosocial support.
• Assist doctors with palliative care delivery and clinic consultations.
• Provide end-of-life care and support advance care discussions.
• Coordinate referrals to community services and bereavement follow-up when required.

Senior/Staff Nurse (Supportive & Palliative Care)

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Staff Nurse to join our Supportive & Palliative Care team, providing holistic nursing care to patients and their caregivers across outpatient, inpatient and domiciliary settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide safe, timely and quality nursing care to patients receiving supportive and palliative care.

Provide pain and symptom management, nursing care, and psychosocial and emotional support to patients and caregivers.

Assist doctors with the smooth delivery of Palliative Care Services and support consultations at the Palliative Care Clinic.

Provide end-of-life care and support advance care planning and end-of-life discussions.

Coordinate appropriate referrals to community services and provide bereavement follow-up where required.

Perform relevant nursing procedures, including continuous subcutaneous infusion (CSCI), subcutaneous line insertion, high fleet enema and wound management.

Respond appropriately to emergencies in accordance with hospital protocols and policies.

Maintain accurate nursing documentation and ensure compliance with nursing standards and procedures.

Participate in patient education, palliative care talks, workshops and continuing nursing education programmes.

Provide guidance and support to junior nurses and new team members where required.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Nursing.

Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board and has a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

Minimum 3 years of clinical/nursing experience, preferably in a related field.

Supervisory experience is an added advantage.

Post-Basic Certification is an added advantage.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and emotional resilience.

Good listening skills and a compassionate approach to patient and caregiver needs.
