Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd in Subang Jaya is seeking a proactive Staff Nurse to support our Wellness Centre health screening services. You will assist with clinical procedures, coordinate patient appointments, and deliver high-quality customer care while maintaining compliance with hospital standards.

You will perform basic measurements, support health screenings, assist doctors, manage documentation, and help maintain a safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Medical Assistant, Healthcare, or related field.
• ARC registration (Penolong Pegawai Perubatan) is an advantage.
• Experience in health screening, wellness services, or outpatient care is beneficial.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic clinical procedures including height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and vision tests.
• Assist with health screening procedures, specimen collection, urine pregnancy tests, and routine diagnostic tests.
• Support doctors during examinations and minor procedures, including specimen handling.
• Provide health screening guidance and assist patients with questionnaires and wellness packages.
• Monitor patients and escalate abnormal findings to the attending doctor.
• Maintain infection prevention and control practices in the clinic.
• Register patients, schedule/reschedule appointments, and assist with billing and pre-registration.
• Coordinate health screening appointments and ensure a smooth patient journey.
• Prepare and dispatch wellness reports within the turnaround time.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service and address patient inquiries professionally.
• Comply with SOPs and quality standards; participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment; report faults.
• Collaborate with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Staff Nurse to join our Wellness Centre. In this role, you will support health screening services by assisting with clinical procedures, coordinating patient appointments, and delivering quality customer care while ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance with hospital standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Patient Care

Perform basic clinical procedures including measuring height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and vision tests.

Assist with health screening procedures, specimen collection, urine pregnancy tests, and routine diagnostic tests as required.

Support doctors during examinations and minor procedures, including specimen handling.

Provide health screening guidance and assist patients with questionnaires and wellness packages.

Monitor patients' conditions and promptly escalates abnormal findings to the attending doctor.

Maintain infection prevention and control practices, ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment.

Register patients, schedule and reschedule appointments, and assist with billing and pre-registration.

Coordinate health screening appointments and ensure a smooth patient journey.

Prepare and dispatch wellness reports within the stipulated turnaround time.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Quality & Professional Practice

Deliver excellent customer service and address patient enquiries and feedback professionally.

Comply with hospital policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.

Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and mandatory training programmes.

Ensure proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment and report faults when necessary.

Work collaboratively with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Medical Assistant, Healthcare, or a related field.

Post Basic holders in A&E will have an added advantage.

Registered with Annual Renewal Certificate (ARC) for Medical Assistants (Penolong Pegawai Perubatan) managed by the Lembaga Pembantu Perubatan (LPP).

Candidates with experience in health screening, wellness services, or outpatient care will have an added advantage.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.

Basic computer literacy and administrative skills.

Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Detail-oriented, responsible, and committed to delivering quality patient care.

Working Hours

Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Sundays & Public Holidays: Closed
