Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd in Subang Jaya seeks a Staff Nurse – Oncology Ward to deliver safe, holistic, and evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients, administer medications, monitor conditions, and work with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes.

You will uphold MOH guidelines and SOPs, document meticulously, and participate in quality improvement and infection prevention initiatives while supporting junior staff.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing; Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board with APC.
• 1–3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Oncology or related specialty.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, emotionally resilient, and able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, holistic, and evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients.
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side effects and adverse reactions.
• Assess, monitor, document, and report changes in patients' conditions promptly.
• Record vital signs and maintain nursing documentation and medical records.

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse – Oncology Ward to provide safe, holistic, and evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients. You will be responsible for delivering quality patient care, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patients' conditions, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best clinical outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professionalism.

Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and nursing standards.

Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patients for side effects and adverse reactions.

Assess, monitor, document, and promptly report changes in patients' conditions.

Record patients' vital signs and maintain accurate nursing documentation and medical records.

Anticipate potential clinical risks and implement appropriate nursing interventions.

Collaborate effectively with doctors and the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Address patients' and family members' concerns with professionalism, empathy, and compassion.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention practices, and patient safety programmes.

Support the orientation and supervision of junior nurses and new staff members, and assume team leadership responsibilities when required.

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing ethics, MOH guidelines, and workplace safety requirements.

Job Requirements | Kelayakan

Diploma or Degree in Nursing.

Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

1–3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Oncology or a related specialty. Post-basic Oncology certification is an added advantage.

Competent in medical oncology nursing practices and basic computer applications.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.

Compassionate, patient-focused, emotionally resilient, and able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Saturday: 8:30 AM to 1:0 PM
