Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care in our Accident & Emergency department. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care while adhering to hospital standards and emergency protocols.

The role requires a Diploma/Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing, registration with the Malaysian Nursing Board with APC, and up to 3 years of clinical experience in A&E is

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing (basic qualification).
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board with APC.
• Up to 3 years' clinical nursing experience in A&E or related areas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and SOPs.
• Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to patients' changing conditions.
• Assist in emergency procedures and collaborate with doctors.
• Support daily A&E operations and maintain emergency equipment readiness.
• Address patient enquiries and maintain confidentiality.
• Ensure accurate nursing documentation and smooth shift handovers.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development.
• Support teamwork and mentoring of new nursing staff when required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and SOPs.

Assist in emergency procedures and collaborate with doctors to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Support daily A&E operations and maintain emergency equipment readiness.

Address patient enquiries and concerns professionally while maintaining confidentiality.

Ensure accurate nursing documentation and smooth shift handovers.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, mandatory training, and continuous professional development.

Support teamwork and assist in mentoring new nursing staff when required.

Job Requirements

Diploma/Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Post Basic holders will have an added advantage.

Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

Candidates with up to 3 years' clinical nursing experience in A&E or related areas will have an added advantage.

Good communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

Compassionate, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer literacy.

Working Hours

This position requires candidates to work on a rotating shift schedule, including:
