Job summary

WE M&E SDN BHD in Johor is seeking a qualified engineer/quantity surveyor to support cost estimation, budgeting and tendering for residential, commercial and industrial electrical projects. You will prepare feasibility studies, budgets and Bills of Quantities, and collaborate with subcontractors and consultants to ensure competitive bids and compliant contracts.

The role requires proficiency in measurement software such as Glodon, Cubicost and AutoCAD, plus strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or Quantity Surveyor or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree is acceptable per the description.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate feasibility studies, cost estimates and detailed budget plans.
• Manage tendering, prepare Bills of Quantities and evaluate subcontractor quotations.
• Conduct progress visits, measure work progress and verify subcontractor claims.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate variation orders to protect project margins.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing and managing construction contracts including disputes and insurance matters.

Job description

Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare accurate feasibility studies, cost estimates, and detailed budget plans based on architectural and engineering drawings.

Tendering & Procurement: Manage the tendering process, prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), evaluate subcontractor quotations, and provide recommendations.

Progress Claim Valuation: Conduct regular site visits to measure work progress, verify subcontractor claims, and prepare progress payments.

Variation Orders (VO): Identify, evaluate, and negotiate variation orders efficiently to protect project profit margins.

Contract Administration: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing construction contracts, handling contractual disputes and insurance matters.

Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic)/ Quantity Surveyor or equivalent.

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English

Proficient in measurement software (e.g., Glodon, Cubicost, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Excel.
