Job summary

LWE Engineering Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a cost estimation/tendering specialist to prepare quotations and bid documents for projects. You will develop bid cost estimates and source subcontractors, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure accurate tender packs.

The role requires 2–3 years in related field, strong communication, and willingness to attend site visits. Travel and own transport are preferred as projects span across sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Building or Quantity Surveying.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in tendering/cost estimation.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Willing to travel and attend site visits.
• Own transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotation/tender documents accurately and on time.
• Develop bid cost estimates for construction activities.
• Source suppliers and subcontractors for tendering.
• Coordinate with departments to compile tender information.
• Manage contract documentation, cost estimation, tender documents and bill of quantities.
• Prepare and manage progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor payments, and final accounts.
• Assist project team on cost control and reporting.

Job description

1. Responsible for the overall preparation of quotation/tender documents to customers in a timely and accurate manner.

2. Develops the bid cost estimate of project construction activities and service

3. Ability to source for supplier and subcontractors for quotation for tendering

4. Co-ordinate with various departments as with customers and project teams to ensure all information is correctly compiled for the quotation/tender preparation

5. Manage contract documentation, costs estimation, tender documents and BQ

6. To Prepare, review, and manage progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor payments, and final accounts

7. To assist Project team on cost control and report.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: -

1. Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Electrical/Building or Quantity Surveying or equivalent

2. At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in the related field is required for this position (preferably an executive specialist in Engineering-Electrical or equivalent)

3. Highly motivated, responsible and able to work independently

4. Possess good verbal and communication skills and proficient with Microsoft Office applications

5. Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English

6. Be able to attend site visits for tendering and costing activities.

7. Possesses own transport and is willing to travel.
