V-Cool Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (HVAC/ACMV) for immediate hiring. You will prepare BQ/tender documents, estimate costs, manage contracts, and assist with cost controls across projects.

The role requires at least 2–3 years in a similar capacity, strong AutoCAD skills, and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin to serve Mandarin-speaking clients.

Qualifications

• Diploma & Degree in Mechanic, Electrical & Quantity Survey or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Able to read drawing and Bill of Quantities (BQ).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bill of quantities (BQ) and tender documents and invite tenders.
• Prepare cost estimations, budgets, and cash flow.
• Prepare tender submissions with deadlines.
• Manage contractual matters and post-contract work.
• Review specs/drawings for costing and award letters.
• Prepare monthly progress claims and variation orders.
• Source sub-contractors/suppliers and negotiate prices.
• Conduct site valuations and assist cost controls.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with consultants.

Job description

Quantity Surveyor (HVAC / ACMV) – Immediate Hiring

Preparation of bill of quantities (BQ) / tender document and invite contractor / sub-contractor to tender for the project.

Preparation of cost estimation / project budget / cash flow based on preliminary or details design.

Preparation of tender submission with specific deadline.

Managing, monitoring and coordinating all quantity surveying work contractual matters.

Responsible to manage related contractual work, inclusive on the pre-contract related work, sub-contract related work as well as post-contract related work.

Review specification and drawing to determine scope of work, costing structures, contractual requirements, as well as preparing the letter of award to sub-contractors.

Responsible on pre-contract of tender, cost planning, budget estimation and post-contract of site valuation, preparation of progress certificate, variation orders, final account, procurement, monitoring of material and construction cost.

Prepare and check monthly progress claim and variation orders for approval and payment.

Source for sub-contractors / suppliers for quotation for tendering, negotiate for competitive prices.

Conduct site valuation.

To assist Project team to Cost Controls and Reports.

Liaise with consultants, sub-contractor, relevant government authorities, etc.

To ensure all tender and project document are properly filed and maintained.

Attend site meetings when necessary.

Requirements

Diploma & Degree in Mechanic, Electrical & Quantity Survey or equivalent.

At last 2-3 years of working experience in similar capacity.

Able to work independently.

Able to work under tight timeline and ability to multi-tasking.

Hands on experience in project management will be an added advantage.

Able to read drawing and Bill of Quantities (BQ).

Proficiency in AutoCAD software.

Good communication and negotiation skills.

Good command both in written spoken Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin. We seek Mandarin-speaking candidates who are required to serve Mandarin-speaking clients.
