Rubberflex in Bentong, Malaysia is hiring a Senior QC Engineer/Executive to strengthen quality control through advanced statistical methods and FMECA leadership on our latex thread production lines.
You will drive SPC-based process control, perform risk analyses, and lead CAPA programs while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and customer specifications. A hands-on, results-oriented engineer is essential in our modernization phase.
Rubberflex is seeking a highly analytical and process-driven Senior QC Engineer/Executive to join our manufacturing facility in Bentong. In this role, you will be instrumental in elevating our quality control frameworks by applying advanced statistical methods and risk analysis to our natural latex rubber thread production. You will act as the technical anchor for defect prevention, utilizing your deep expertise in Statistical Analysis and Failure Mode Effect Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to identify vulnerabilities, optimize process controls, and ensure all outgoing products meet stringent global standards.
This role requires a resilient, hands-on engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment that is currently undergoing significant operational modernization.
Statistical Process Control (SPC): Design, implement, and monitor robust statistical analysis frameworks across the production lines to track process variations, material yields, and product consistency (e.g., elasticity, gauge, tensile strength).
FMECA Leadership: Lead and execute comprehensive Failure Mode Effect Criticality Analysis (FMECA) for both existing production lines and new equipment installations. Identify potential failure modes in the chemical compounding and extrusion processes, quantify their criticality, and enforce preventive controls.
Quality Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Oversee daily quality control checks on the factory floor in Bentong. Rapidly diagnose the root causes of off-spec batches using data-driven methodologies and collaborate with production teams to implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Process Optimization: Translate complex quality data into actionable engineering interventions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap rates, minimize chemical waste, and enhance overall product reliability.
Reporting & Compliance: Generate detailed, data-backed quality reports for top management. Ensure all QC protocols comply with internal specifications, customer requirements, and international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in Quality Control within a heavy manufacturing, chemical, or polymer/rubber processing environment.
Deep, hands-on experience and proven mastery in applying FMECA to industrial manufacturing processes.
Strong proficiency in Statistical Analysis and quality engineering tools (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma methodologies, Minitab, Control Charts, Pareto Analysis).
Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret complex chemical and mechanical production data to preemptively catch defects before they scale.
Resilience & Composure: Must possess a strong intellectual fortitude to operate effectively under high expectations, tight deadlines, and direct, blunt feedback from senior management.
Pragmatic & Action-Oriented: Capable of making rapid, data-backed quality decisions on the shop floor without getting paralyzed by analysis.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a transitional "rebuilding" phase where legacy systems are being upgraded, requiring a proactive mindset to establish new SOPs from scratch.
