Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of direct experience in heavy manufacturing or chemical processing plants.
• Hands-on experience with 11kV systems, power generators, oil-based transformers, UPS units, switchgear, smart meters, PLC systems, VFDs, and industrial automation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, manage complex circuits, and use diagnostic tools for HV/LV troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee power distribution, switchgear, and control panels at Bentong plant.
• Analyze and reduce power usage and maximum demand with smart meters.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for transformers, UPS, and power infrastructure.
• Maintain electrical components for rubber thread production including heating elements and motors.
• Calibrate and repair temperature, flow, and pressure instruments.
• Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) and DOSH standards.
• Manage electrical upgrades and new machinery installations.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our technical team in Bentong. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the primary power supply systems, circuit management architecture, and specialized manufacturing equipment at our rubber thread production facility. The ideal candidate will possess hands‑on experience with high‑voltage systems and the technical grit to manage the unique electrical demands of a continuous latex processing plant.

Key Responsibilities

Power Distribution & Switchgear: Oversee the operation, troubleshooting, and daily management of the 11kV generators, High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution boards, switchgear, control panels, and MCBs.

Energy Optimization: Utilize smart meters for the continuous analysis and reduction of power usage and maximum demand across the manufacturing facility.

Heavy Electrical Maintenance: Execute rigorous preventive and corrective maintenance for oil‑based transformers, UPS systems, and primary power supply infrastructure to eliminate downtime in a 24/7 environment.

Production Equipment Support: Maintain and optimize electrical components specific to rubber thread manufacturing, including precision heating elements, high‑speed winding motors, VFDs, and centrifugal systems.

Instrumentation & Control: Calibrate and repair instruments related to temperature control, flow meters, and pressure sensors essential for stable latex processing.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations, circuit management practices, and operational workflows strictly comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations and DOSH standards.

Project Oversight: Manage electrical upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives, and the installation of new machinery.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience in a heavy manufacturing or chemical processing plant.

Technical Mastery: Direct, hands‑on experience handling 11kV systems, power generators, oil‑based transformers, UPS units, switchgear, smart meters, PLC systems, VFDs, and industrial automation.

Diagnostic Skills: Proficient in reading electrical schematics, managing complex circuits, and using diagnostic tools for HV/LV troubleshooting.

Soft Skills: Strong problem‑solving abilities, leadership qualities, and the mental resilience to work under pressure during critical plant breakdowns.

Location: Willingness to work on‑site in Bentong, Pahang.
