Job summary

Rubberflex Sdn Bhd in Bentong, Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Welding Supervisor to lead internal welding projects, assess feasibility, manpower, materials, equipment and safety before execution.

You will perform welding, cutting, fabrication and repairs on plant machinery, piping and structures, minimize outsourcing, and support maintenance teams during breakdowns and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal welding projects and evaluate feasibility including manpower, materials, equipment and safety requirements before execution.
• Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, modification and repair works for plant machinery, piping, structures, tanks, platforms and other maintenance needs.
• Minimize outsourcing by effectively managing available manpower, welding equipment and resources internally.
• Carry out preventive and corrective welding repairs to minimize downtime.
• Support the Mechanical Maintenance team during machine breakdowns, planned stoppages and improvement projects.
• Fabricate and modify machine components, brackets, supports, frames and other parts per site requirements.
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure welding activities are completed safely and on time.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of welding machines, gas cutting equipment, tools and related gear.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure welding activities comply with safety requirements.
• Support the Assistant Supervisor/Supervisor in coordinating daily welding activities and manpower allocation.

Job description

1. Lead internal welding projects and evaluate their feasibility, manpower, materials, equipment, and safety requirements before execution.

2. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, modification, and repair works for plant machinery, piping, structures, tanks, platforms, and other maintenance requirements.

3. Minimize outsourcing of welding tasks by effectively managing available manpower, welding equipment, and resources internally.

4. Carry out preventive and corrective welding repairs to minimize equipment downtime.

5. Support the Mechanical Maintenance team during machine breakdowns, planned stoppages, and improvement projects.

6. Fabricate and modify machine components, brackets, supports, frames, and other required parts according to site requirements.

7. Coordinate with technicians and maintenance personnel to ensure welding activities are completed safely and within the required timeframe.

8. Ensure proper handling and maintenance of welding machines, gas cutting equipment, tools, and related equipment.

9. Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure welding activities are carried out in accordance with departmental safety requirements.

10. Support the Assistant Supervisor/Supervisor in coordinating daily welding activities and manpower allocation.
