Private Advertiser is seeking a Senior Purchasing Officer to strengthen procurement and supply chain operations in Malaysia. The role involves sourcing engineering materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery to support engineering projects.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of purchasing experience within engineering or automation sectors, strong Excel and ERP familiarity, and a detail-oriented, proactive approach.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in SCM, Procurement, Business Admin, Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Experience in engineering/industrial/manufacturing/automation sectors.
• Knowledge of engineering materials and automation components.
• Ability to read technical drawings and material specs.
• Strong supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation and PO management.
• Experience with local and international suppliers.
• Proficient in MS Excel; ERP or procurement software is a plus.

An established engineering and industrial automation solutions provider is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Purchasing Officer to strengthen its procurement and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will oversee purchasing activities, source engineering materials and automation components, negotiate with suppliers, manage procurement costs and ensure timely delivery of materials to support ongoing engineering and automation projects.

Key responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily purchasing and procurement activities.

Source engineering materials, industrial equipment, mechanical and electrical components, spare parts and automation products.

Identify, evaluate and develop reliable local and overseas suppliers.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.

Review and compare supplier quotations, technical specifications and commercial terms.

Prepare, issue and monitor Purchase Orders (PO).

Ensure materials meet project specifications, quality requirements and delivery timelines.

Coordinate with engineering, project and operations teams.

Monitor shipments, outstanding orders and delivery schedules.

Maintain strong supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance.

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience.

Mandatory experience working in an engineering, industrial, manufacturing or automation company.

Strong knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical and electrical components, industrial equipment and automation products.

Ability to understand technical specifications, engineering drawings and material requirements.

Proven experience in supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, price negotiation and purchase order management.

Experience dealing with local and international suppliers.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. ERP or procurement software experience is preferred.

Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Independent, organised, responsible and detail-oriented.

5 Working Days a Week

Working Hours: 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM
