Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Senior Purchasing Officer to strengthen procurement and supply chain operations in Malaysia. The role involves sourcing engineering materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery to support engineering projects.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of purchasing experience within engineering or automation sectors, strong Excel and ERP familiarity, and a detail-oriented, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in SCM, Procurement, Business Admin, Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Experience in engineering/industrial/manufacturing/automation sectors.
• Knowledge of engineering materials and automation components.
• Ability to read technical drawings and material specs.
• Strong supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation and PO management.
• Experience with local and international suppliers.
• Proficient in MS Excel; ERP or procurement software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily purchasing and procurement activities.
• Source engineering materials, equipment, components and automation products.
• Identify and develop reliable local and overseas suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules.
• Review supplier quotations and terms.
• Prepare, issue and monitor Purchase Orders.
• Ensure materials meet project specs and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with engineering, project and operations teams.
• Monitor shipments and outstanding orders.
• Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate performance.
