Job summary

Sum Technic Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Purchasing Executive to manage end-to-end procurement for local projects in Petaling Jaya. You will source, evaluate quotations, negotiate terms and manage costing across import shipments, especially with China suppliers.

Join a dynamic team and drive cost-saving initiatives while coordinating with internal departments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement for project-based industries.
• Strong sourcing, negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Good commercial and costing awareness.
• Ability to speak and read in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end purchasing activities for local projects, including sourcing, quotation evaluation, negotiation and costing management.

Job description

Handle end-to-end purchasing activities for local projects, including sourcing, quotation evaluation, negotiation and costing management.

Manage procurement activities for import shipments and coordinate closely with suppliers, particularly China-based suppliers.

Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation, performance monitoring and development of alternative suppliers.

Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective sourcing and negotiation.

Coordinate with internal departments and project teams to ensure timely delivery and smooth procurement operations.

Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 3–5 years relevant experience in purchasing / procurement, preferably in project-based industries.

Strong sourcing, negotiation and supplier management skills.

Good commercial and costing awareness.

Ability to speak and read in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an added advantage due to the needs to communicate with China counterparts.

Able to work independently and manage multiple projects / priorities.

Good communication and coordination skills.
