Job summary

Setia Awan in Malaysia seeks an experienced Project Assistant to support the Project Manager across the full lifecycle of property development and construction, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high quality.

You will coordinate with authorities, consultants, and contractors, assist with planning and design reviews, attend site meetings, and ensure smooth progress from pre-planning to post-construction stages while upholding ISO 9001 and internal QA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent.
• 3–6 years of experience with property developers and consultants.
• Experience with industrial/high-rise/landed properties preferred.
• Delivery of at least one project from pre-planning to post-construction is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager to obtain approvals from authorities and utilities providers.
• Assist planning and implementation of construction and property development activities.
• Assist in planning, design, monitoring, and controlling from pre-development to post-development to meet quality, cost and time standards.
• Review design inputs across architectural, M&E, C&S, ID to align with stakeholders' interests.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to keep construction progressing ahead of schedule.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with authorities, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure development milestones for mockups and fit-outs align with sales launches.
• Implement QA policies and the Company’s Quality Management System.
• Willingness to travel to Tanjung Malim sites.

About the Role:

The role involves assisting the Project Manager in various aspects of property development and construction, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Manager to obtain approval from the relevant authorities (inclusive but not limited to local council approvals such as Development Order, Building Plan, Infrastructure plans etc., utilities services providers such as TNB, AIS, IWK, TM etc., and strata related matters (for stratified developments)).
• Assist the overall planning and implementation of construction and property development activities.
• Assist Project Manager in all matters pertaining to planning, design, managing, monitoring, and controlling from pre-development stage to post-development stage to meet the approved standard on quality, cost and time.
• Assist to review on design from all aspects such as architectural, M&E, C&S, ID, which the design input is to be aligned to the company’s stakeholders interest.
• Assist Project Manager to manage the appointed contractors and suppliers to ensure the construction progress is ahead of schedule.
• Attend site meetings and maintain close and effective liaison with external parties (authorities, consultants, contractors, suppliers etc) involved in property development and construction.
• Ensure that development of projects, including mockups and fit-out works be in time for sales launch.
• Assist the Project Manager to ensure that project development progresses smoothly and is completed within work schedule and quality standards of budget.
• Implement all related policies, procedures and work instructions as so defined in the Company’s Quality Management System.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural or equivalent.
• At least 3 to 6 years of working experience with property developer and consultant.
• Preferably candidates with exposure in managing construction of industrial, high-rise buildings and landed properties.
• Experience in delivered of at least one project successfully from pre-planning stage to post-construction stage will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office is an added advantage.
• Preferably candidates with exposure to ISO 9001 planning & implementation and Qlassic.
• Able to work independently and efficiently.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Mandarin (both spoken and written) is required to facilitate effective communication with our international investors and stakeholders.
• Willing to travel to Tanjung Malim sites.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in managing construction projects.
• Knowledge of quality management systems.
