VILLA TROPIKA DEVELOPMENT SDN BHD is seeking a highly experienced Group Project Manager to oversee multiple construction projects across the Penang region. You will lead diverse project teams, coordinate with consultants, contractors, and authorities, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with top-tier quality and safety standards.

The role requires 12+ years in property development or main contracting, with at least 5 years in a senior PM position.

Job description

We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Group Project Manager to oversee and manage the Group's construction projects, ensuring successful delivery from planning through completion. This role is responsible for leading multiple project teams, coordinating with consultants, contractors, and authorities, and ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with the highest quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will oversee projects across the Group, including developments in Tasek Gelugor and Batu Ferringhi Phase II, while providing strategic leadership and technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of multiple construction projects under the Group.

Oversee project teams at various project sites, ensuring effective coordination and timely project delivery.

Develop and monitor project master schedules, budgets, cash flow, and resource allocation.

Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.

Ensure all projects comply with statutory requirements, building regulations, safety standards, and quality specifications.

Review and evaluate project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Manage project costs, contract administration, variation orders, claims, and procurement activities.

Conduct regular site inspections and project review meetings to ensure construction quality and progress.

Prepare project status reports and provide timely updates and recommendations to the Management.

Lead project teams in achieving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.

Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the property development and/or main contractor industry.

At least 5 years of experience in a senior Project Manager role managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.

Proven experience in high-rise residential, mixed-use, commercial, or township developments.

Strong knowledge of project management, construction methodologies, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, and local authority approval processes.

Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Able to manage multiple stakeholders and project teams across different locations.

Proficient in Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.

Willing to travel regularly between project sites within Penang.
