NEXUSTEST TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. is seeking a Production Coordinator to translate schedules into actionable shopfloor plans and lead day-to-day production execution.
You will allocate operators, monitor progress, and ensure materials and work orders align with the plan. The role requires hands-on production experience, strong coordination skills, and a proactive approach to resolving delays and bottlenecks on the factory floor.
1. Production Planning and Execution Control
Support the Production Manager in preparing and executing daily and weekly production plans based on shipment priorities, work order requirements, material readiness, manpower availability, equipment capacity, and production targets.
Translate production schedules into clear and executable daily shopfloor plans.
Determine production priorities and coordinate the sequence of work to achieve required output and delivery commitments.
Review Plan versus Actual production performance and identify gaps, delays, bottlenecks, or risks.
Develop and coordinate recovery actions when production falls behind plan and follow up until the affected activities are recovered.
Maintain clear visibility of WIP and ensure units progress through required production stages without unnecessary waiting.
Escalate significant production risks, resource constraints, or delays to the Production Manager promptly.
Support weekly production readiness review and ensure manpower, materials, equipment, and documentation are prepared ahead of execution.
2. Manpower and Resource Allocation
Allocate operators according to production priorities, workload, skill requirements, process needs, and daily production targets.
Review manpower availability, attendance, operator capability, and workload before assigning production activities.
Reallocate manpower between workstations or activities when required to address bottlenecks, urgent orders, or changing production priorities.
Ensure appropriately trained and qualified operators are assigned to the relevant production processes.
Monitor manpower utilization and identify shortages, idle capacity, skill gaps, or inefficient allocation.
Coordinate availability of production equipment, tooling, fixtures, workstations, and other resources required to execute the plan.
Support the Production Manager in manpower planning and capacity assessment.
3. Operator Management and Shopfloor Control
Provide day-to-day direction and coordination to production operators according to approved production priorities.
Communicate daily production targets, work assignments, priorities, and expected completion timing clearly to operators.
Monitor operator execution and ensure assigned activities are progressing according to plan.
Ensure operators follow approved SOPs, work instructions, process requirements, ESD controls, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, discipline, productivity, and general shopfloor performance.
Identify operator skill or performance gaps and coordinate required training or improvement actions with the Production Manager, Process Engineer, or Product Engineer.
Support onboarding and shopfloor integration of new operators.
Promote good production discipline, 5S, teamwork, accountability, and workplace organization.
Escalate significant disciplinary, attendance, or performance issues to the Production Manager.
4. Kitting Store and Material Accuracy
Take responsibility for maintaining accurate control and visibility of materials within the production kitting store.
Ensure materials issued to Production are properly received, identified, stored, controlled, and traceable.
Verify kitting completeness before scheduled production activities begin.
Check part numbers, quantities, material condition, and kit completeness against production requirements.
Identify shortages, wrong parts, missing components, excess materials, or discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution.
Maintain accurate records of material issuance, consumption, return, balance, and movement within the production area.
Ensure unused, excess, rejected, or returned materials are properly identified and handled according to established procedures.
Support periodic physical-to-system reconciliation of production and kitting materials.
Investigate material discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with Warehouse, Material Planning, Purchasing, or other relevant departments.
Maintain good housekeeping, identification, traceability, and inventory discipline within the kitting area.
5. Daily Production Monitoring and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of output, WIP, completed quantities, pending activities, and production status.
Prepare daily production updates showing Plan versus Actual, gaps, blockers, recovery actions, and expected completion status.
Ensure production data is updated accurately and within the required reporting timeline.
Highlight manpower shortages, material constraints, quality issues, test bottlenecks, equipment issues, or other factors affecting production.
Maintain visibility of open production issues and follow up relevant owners until closure.
Support preparation of weekly and monthly production performance reports where required.
Provide timely and accurate production information to the Production Manager for management review and decision-making.
6. Work Order Verification, Material Withdrawal and Production Execution
Review and verify work orders issued by the Material Planner before production execution.
Ensure work order information, model, quantity, priority, and associated material requirements are clear and consistent with the production plan.
Coordinate with Warehouse / Kitting Store to withdraw materials required for released work orders.
Verify material part numbers, quantities, and kit completeness before production starts.
Highlight shortages, discrepancies, wrong materials, or incomplete kits to the relevant parties for timely resolution.
Ensure materials withdrawn against each work order are properly identified, recorded, and traceable.
Release and coordinate materials to operators according to production priorities and work order requirements.
Monitor execution and completion of production activities against the released work order.
Track unused, excess, or balance materials and ensure proper return or disposition after production completion.
Ensure completed quantities, material usage, and work order status are accurately recorded and communicated.
Escalate issues that may prevent a work order from being executed or completed according to schedule.
7. Indirect Material and Purchase Requisition Control
Raise purchase requisitions for indirect materials, consumables, and other production‑related items as required.
Maintain appropriate minimum stock visibility for frequently used indirect materials where applicable.
Follow up outstanding purchase requisitions and delivery status for items that may affect production continuity.
8. RMA Material and Production Support
Coordinate registration and movement of RMA units and materials between Warehouse and Production.
Arrange withdrawal of required materials for approved RMA repair or rework activities.
Maintain accurate records of materials requisitioned and consumed for individual RMA activities.
Ensure RMA‑related material movements are properly documented and traceable.
Coordinate with Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and other relevant teams on RMA production support requirements.
Maintain production and material records related to RMA repair activities.
Prepare and submit required RMA‑related production and material usage reports to HQ in Suzhou accurately and within the required timeline.
9. Cross‑Functional Production Coordination
Work closely with Material Planning, Warehouse, Purchasing, Quality, Process Engineering, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, and other relevant departments to support smooth production execution.
Follow up material shortages, rejected components, pending inspections, testing constraints, engineering clarifications, and other issues affecting production.
Coordinate timely resolution of production blockers and ensure relevant stakeholders understand the urgency and required completion timing.
Participate in daily production meetings and provide clear status updates and follow‑up actions.
Ensure changes in production priorities, material availability, or delivery requirements are communicated promptly to affected parties.
Support coordination of rework, RMA, engineering builds, urgent builds, and other special production activities.
10. Production Performance and Continuous Improvement
Support the Production Manager in monitoring production output, productivity, manpower utilization, WIP, execution efficiency, and schedule achievement.
Identify recurring delays, inefficient workflow, manpower imbalance, material handling issues, or other operational gaps.
Work with Process Engineering and Product Engineering to implement improvements to production flow, workstation arrangement, manpower utilization, and execution methods.
Support improvements relating to line balance, material flow, WIP control, productivity, workplace organization, and production discipline.
Follow up on improvement actions and verify effective implementation on the production floor.
Promote continuous improvement and stronger execution discipline across the production team.
11. Deputy Support to Production Manager
Act as the key operational support and deputy to the Production Manager in managing daily production execution.
Assist the Production Manager in translating production priorities and management requirements into clear shopfloor actions.
Maintain overall visibility of production status and proactively highlight risks, delays, shortages, manpower constraints, and operational issues.
Coordinate routine production matters independently within the authority delegated by the Production Manager.
Perform other production‑related duties or assignments directed by the Production Manager.
1.Education
STPM / Diploma in Business Administration, Production, Office Administration, or a related field.
Candidates with strong relevant manufacturing experience and suitable technical qualifications may also be considered.
2. Experience
4–6 years of relevant experience in production coordination, production planning, manufacturing operations, production supervision, or a related role.
Hands‑on experience working in a manufacturing and production‑floor environment is required.
Strong experience in production planning, manpower allocation, work order execution, material coordination, and daily production monitoring is preferred.
Experience managing or coordinating production operators is required.
Experience with kitting, inventory/material control, and production material reconciliation is strongly preferred.
Experience in instrumentation, electronics, semiconductor equipment, electromechanical assembly, EMS, or box‑build manufacturing is an advantage.
Experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
Experience coordinating with cross‑functional departments such as Planning, Warehouse, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing is an advantage.
3. Knowledge and Skills
Good understanding of production planning, resource allocation, manufacturing workflow, WIP control, and shopfloor execution.
Able to translate production requirements into practical daily production plans.
Good understanding of Plan versus Actual monitoring, production gap analysis, and recovery planning.
Strong understanding of kitting and production material control, including material withdrawal, issuance, return, reconciliation, and traceability.
Familiar with work orders, BOM‑related material requirements, production records, and manufacturing documentation.
Able to coordinate and manage production operators effectively.
Strong organizational, follow‑up, communication, and cross‑functional coordination skills.
Able to identify production risks early and drive appropriate follow‑up or escalation.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general computer applications.
Familiarity with SAP, ERP, MES, or other manufacturing systems is an advantage.
