Job summary

Career Wise in Penang is seeking a Production Manager to lead departmental objectives, approve schedules and enforce quality, safety, and 5S standards on the shop floor. You will drive process stabilization, risk assessments, and ISO 9001:2015 compliance with support from Engineering and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent with supervisory experience.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings (ISO 2768 / ASME Y14.5 basics).
• Proficient with standard measuring instruments.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic machine breakdowns.
• Strong production planning and scheduling ability.

Responsibilities

• Set departmental objectives for rejection reduction, productivity improvement, and machine utilization.
• Approve production schedules in coordination with Planner to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Establish and track departmental quality objectives with action plans.
• Lead process stabilization initiatives in collaboration with Quality & Engineering.
• Establish and maintain Production Risk Assessment evaluations.
• Make final decisions on abnormal production situations and authorize corrective actions.
• Enforce 5S standards and safety compliance across the production floor.
• Coordinate with Maintenance on preventive maintenance planning and schedules.
• Identify training needs for production staff and approve training plans.
• Lead new/modified model sample preparation with support from Engineering.
• Assist the Manufacturing Manager in maintaining ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
• Delegate daily execution tasks to the Production Assistant Manager.
• Review reports from Assistant Manager and escalate complex issues to Manufacturing Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.

JOB COMPETENCY

• 4.1 Diploma or minimum 8 years of relevant working experience with 5 years supervisory role.
