Job summary

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to design and scale new packages and modules for industrial and automotive markets.

You will translate system requirements into robust power modules, using CAD and simulation tools to ensure electrical, thermal and mechanical integrity. You will collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and customers to optimize materials, processes and assembly methods, aiming for high yield and cost efficiency while

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Materials, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in design of packages and modules.
• Proficiency in CAD software: AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Deep understanding of packaging technologies, processes and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of thermal, electrical and mechanical simulation tools and methods.
• Experience with ANSYS Icepak/Q3D/Mechanical preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; innovative problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and scale to volume production of packages and modules for industrial, automotive, renewable and telecom markets.
• Translate system requirements into package/power module definitions meeting electrical, thermal and mechanical specs.
• Independently use simulation software to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers and subcontractors to develop packages and assembly processes.
• Optimize materials and processes to maximize performance, yield and cost efficiency.
• Benchmark competitors and develop new methodologies and IP.
• Provide direct support for multiple product lines and customers.
