Job summary

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. in Penang is seeking an experienced packaging engineer to design, develop and scale new packages and modules for diverse markets.

You will work with cross-functional teams, suppliers and customers to meet electrical, thermal and mechanical specs using CAD and simulation tools. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of packaging design experience, strong communication skills and a mindset for innovation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in design of packages and modules.
• Proficiency in CAD software: AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
• Knowledge of thermal, electrical and mechanical simulation tools and methods.
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and scale to volume production of new packages and modules.
• Translate system requirements into package/power module definitions meeting electrical, thermal and mechanical specs.
• Use simulation software and interact with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Optimize assembly materials and processes to maximize yield and minimize cost.
• Benchmark competitors and develop new methodologies and IP.
• Provide direct support for multiple product lines and customers.
