NEFAB Penang seeks an experienced Senior Packaging Design Engineer to strengthen the team in Batu Kawan. You will craft robust packaging solutions, support sales with technical input, and coordinate with production, QA and sourcing to guarantee feasible designs.

The role requires 3–5 years in packaging, a engineering degree or diploma, and skills in 3D CAD. Mandarin has added value for Mandarin-speaking clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or design related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in packaging design.
• Experience with 3D modelling CAD software.
• ISTA lab testing knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design complete packaging solutions within defined constraints and budget.
• Coordinate with production, QA, sourcing and sales teams.
• Provide technical support on packaging design and specifications.
• Interact with customers and suppliers for data gathering and design input.
• Lead small project teams and ensure timely delivery.

Position: Senior Packaging Design Engineer (min 3 to 5 years’ experience) (Location: Batu Kawan, Penang)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

We are strengthening our team in Penang, offering a great opportunity for a Packaging Design Engineer in an inspiring environment about Innovation projects, Design, Prototyping, Converting plant & ISTA test lab. This would be a great position for someone who has excellent Design & communication skills and who takes strong initiative and is result oriented.

Adhere to Nefab design policies, procedures, and workflows.

Design the complete packaging solution that meets the requirements of Sales and customer within given parameters and packaging budget etc.

Provide technical support to the sales and customers on projects, packaging design, material specifications, packaging instructions, engineering presentations etc.

Coordinate with production, QA department, sourcing department and supplier to ensure the product-ability of the design.

Interactive directly with customers, supplier for Data gathering, Design support etc.

Additional Duties and Accountabilities:

Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested & perform any other tasks assigned by manager.

Ensure all the tasks are completed within the tight deadline.

A good Team player

Leading project with small teams.

Bachelor’s degree, Diploma in engineering or Design Related Courses.

Candidates will have Experience in 3D Modelling software & CAD software.

Candidates will have minimum 3 years’ design experience in Packaging Industries or application engineering background in a light engineering, machine building, Tooling design preferred.

Advantageous, if candidates will have any design knowledge in Thermoforming, corrugation, foam, wooden crate & plywood.

Advantageous, if candidates will have ISTA Lab testing experience (ISTA 1A, ISTA 2A, ISTA 3A, ISTA 3E).

Good learning ability, creative thinking and able to work independently.

Good adaptability to multiple environments with hardworking attitude.

Ability to respond effectively to internal/external customer inquiries or complaints.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinating initiatives in multiple locations.

Bi-Lingual Capabilities Desirable (English/Mandarin/Other). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
