Nefab (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks a Production Process Engineer in Penang to drive peak efficiency in daily production and scheduling. You will analyze workflows, implement best practices, and lead cross-functional collaboration to meet quality and delivery targets.

Position: Production Process Engineer (Location: Batu Kawan, Penang)
Report to: Site Manager - BKIP
We are strengthening our team in Penang with Production Process Engineer to ensure operations operates at peak efficiency and day-to-day production scheduling/function executed smoothly. The candidate must be able to enhance the workflow and carry out action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer satisfaction standards are met inclusive of reaching short- and long-term performance goals. This would be a great position for someone who is technical and has specialty in production management/process control, manufacturing skills, hands on experience in daily production/scheduling arrangement and excellent communication skills who takes strong initiative in implementing best practices with a positive/ energetic attitude.
Manage daily activities of the production operations including workers arrangement and manufacturing efficiency improvement such as analyzing and planning workflow for floor productivity, product care management, inventory control, space management, quality assurance, logistics, shipping, and customer service to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
To handle job order until timely closure (arrangement of daily production activities, release of job order, material receival, manpower arrangement and documentation update).
To train and monitor production employee performance, provide technical support and training as needed.
To work closely with other department such as customer service, sourcing, warehouse and quality and/or supplier on matters related to production/quality fulfilment: monitor the stock level (raw material including accessories) to ensure sufficient in-house stock for production build based on JIT needs and material use according to first-in-first out (FIFO) with proper labelling at production.
Ensure product and process quality meets specifications and customer quality expectations by reducing variability in manufacturing process, develop standard work methods and work instructions such as assembly instructions.
Responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO14001 requirements, investigate production and process issues, leading productivity improvements with project based activities, reduce operating costs through efficient material usage, minimize production rejects (Poka Yoke where possible) and providing cost cutting ideas.
Responsible for document control (upkeep of filing and data entry accurately): Check and ensure that physical material consumption including production rejects are update in system accordingly.
Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development, ensuring all product and system requirements are considered from the initial product conception to the finished result such as bill-of-material (BOM), design fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks.
Responsible at both on-site and off-site projects for customer on-call packaging activities.
Facilitate in the design of new systems and processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations including shop floor layout, cell designs and automation.
To maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing compliance to standards/procedures/legal regulations: Ensure all workers adhere to safety rules and good housekeeping according to 5S.
Review and identify internal/external manufacturing risks and improvement potentials, assuring actions are taken to close identified gaps.
Organize plant start-up and shut-down schedules to ensure minimum loss of production time, respond to breakdowns, report down time and possible trends.
Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure preventative actions are taken to maximise success.
Meet regularly with Site Manager to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity, security and loss prevention.
To ensure 100% on time delivery (OTD), stock accuracy, and zero customer complaint.
Workhours: Monday-Saturday (alternate Saturday).
Any other tasks assign by superior as deem necessary from time to time.
EDUCATION
Degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industry Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3-years’ experience in manufacturing/ operation process and production planning.
EXPERIENCE
Significant work experience in a high pace manufacturing environment, preferably packaging.
Experienced with a number of systems, expert in at least one area and working knowledge of a number of other areas of specialization.
Understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate track record in controlling and managing inventory accuracy.
Knowledge in wooden production, and hard disk/semiconductor clean room requirements production and ESD-related packaging products is an added advantage.
LANGUAGES
Bi-Lingual Capabilities Desirable (Bahasa/English/Mandarin/Other).
Team leader/team player with good discipline who thrives on deadlines-driven to support Just-in-Time (JIT) deliveries and able to deliver under pressure.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex business-related documents.
A conscientious and self-starter who is able to plan, organise and take initiative to meet job objectives and requested tight deadlines independently.
Possess strong problem solving, analytical, leadership and decision-making skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge in mechanical and electrical is an added advantage.
Well-versed with proven ability with MS Office such as Excel and Power Point.
Basic knowledge in ERP system.
