Job summary

Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad is seeking an Assistant Manager/Senior Executive, Medical Underwriter to conduct prudent medical and financial underwriting for new business, endorsements and reinstatements. The role supports the New Business department in achieving targets and ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years working experience in medical underwriting of Life/Takaful insurance, Critical Illness, Accidental and Medical related product.
• With substandard medical underwriting authority of minimum +50% extra mortality.
• At least Degree level; academic background in medical related field preferred (e.g. Biomedical, Bioscience or Science).

Responsibilities

• Conduct prudent medical and financial underwriting assessment on new business, endorsement/alteration and reinstatement applications.
• Attend to internal and external enquiries or referrals; analyse and respond within turn-around-time (TAT).
• Participate in system UAT activity, projects and assignments in the New Business department.
• Assist Manager in preparing department dashboard reports and other management/regulatory reports.
• Support Manager and Head of Department (HOD) in new business operations and ensure daily processing complies with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Undertake any other assignment, duty or project as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
