Hong Leong Assurance Berhad is seeking a Manager for Insurance Operations Business Analysis & Testing to lead requirements gathering, impact analysis, and solution design across life insurance processes. You will document BRDs, coordinate IT and vendor interactions, and support UAT and testing activities to ensure quality deliveries.
The role requires 5+ years in Life Insurance or Takaful, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for system issues, enhancements, process improvements, and project initiatives.
Conduct impact analysis and evaluate business implications arising from proposed system or process changes.
Identify process gaps and recommend practical business and system solutions.
Prepare business requirement documents, process flows, user guides, and operational procedures.
Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
Support business users in defining and validating requirements.
Testing & Project Delivery
Prepare and review test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
Manage testing activities and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
Investigate defects and work closely with IT teams and vendors to facilitate resolution.
Validate delivered solutions against business requirements.
Ensure proper maintenance of test evidence, project documentation, and implementation records.
Support production issue analysis and resolution where required.
Team Coordination
Coordinate team activities and work assignments to ensure efficient delivery.
Provide guidance and knowledge sharing within the team.
Review work outputs to ensure quality and consistency.
Support the Head of Operations Systems & Projects in managing system enhancement initiatives and operational improvement efforts.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Candidate with qualifications in Statistic, Insurance, Actuarial Science background or related fields are preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the Life Insurance and/or Takaful industry.
Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

New Business (NB)
Insurance Operations
Good understanding of insurance operational processes and customer servicing journeys.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently.
Experience in requirements gathering, business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) will be an added advantage.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
