We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Maintenance Engineer/Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance operations, ensure equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving machine performance, ensuring GMP compliance, and supporting production efficiency through effective maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance Operations & Equipment Reliability
Lead daily maintenance activities, troubleshooting, repair, and breakdown analysis of manufacturing equipment.
Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure all scheduled maintenance activities are completed on time.
Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce recurring breakdowns.
Supervise maintenance personnel and coordinate maintenance schedules to support operational requirements.
Provide technical expertise in machine troubleshooting, repair, and root cause analysis.
Support production teams in machine setup, commissioning, and equipment upgrades.
Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Minimize production downtime by resolving equipment- and facility-related issues promptly.
Lead continuous improvement projects focusing on equipment performance, maintenance efficiency, safety, and cost reduction.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning, validation, and handover of new equipment.
3. Technical Documentation & Compliance
Develop, review, and update maintenance-related SOPs, procedures, and technical documentation.
Ensure accurate maintenance, calibration, verification, and validation records are properly maintained.
Coordinate equipment calibration and verification activities with relevant internal and external parties.
Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support audits and inspections related to maintenance and engineering functions.
4. Spare Parts & Vendor Management
Coordinate sourcing and procurement of maintenance spare parts and engineering components.
Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely support for maintenance activities.
Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend stock optimization measures.
Lead and mentor maintenance technicians and engineers to achieve departmental objectives.
Provide technical training and coaching to maintenance and production personnel.
Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
Ensure staff are adequately trained and competent in maintenance procedures and equipment operation.
Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or equipment reliability within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG, food manufacturing, or regulated industries will be an added advantage.
Hands-on experience in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment optimization.
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for mechanical and electrical equipment.
Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems.
Familiar with preventive maintenance systems and engineering documentation.
Understanding of GMP, ISO standards, and manufacturing compliance requirements is preferred.
