Qualifications

• Fresh graduates or 1–2 years in facility management or pharmaceutical equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of facility troubleshooting, utilities, and maintenance practices.
• Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Computer literacy; GMP and ISO knowledge is an advantage.
• Willing to work beyond normal hours to support breakdowns.

Job description

The Facility Engineer supports the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of facility utilities and electrical power systems at the Ipoh site. The role coordinates daily facility activities, preventive maintenance, breakdown response, calibration and verification, documentation, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, statutory, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Facility & Utility Operations

• Supervise and organize daily facility activities and equipment schedules.
• Support the day-to-day operation of facility utilities and electrical power systems.
• Monitor facility performance and maintain the effectiveness of facility activities.
• Coordinate facility-related work with relevant internal teams and service providers.

2. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

• Perform and coordinate troubleshooting, breakdown response, repair, and maintenance activities.
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure planned activities are completed on time.
• Conduct breakdown analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce recurring failures.
• Minimize unscheduled downtime and resolve production-related facility issues promptly.
• Review facility performance to improve equipment efficiency, maintenance standards, safety, and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate instruments and equipment for calibration and verification activities.
• Ensure preventive maintenance, calibration, and verification records are complete and properly maintained.
• Monitor calibration and verification validity to ensure equipment remains within the required period.
• Prepare new SOPs and review or update existing facility-related documents.

4. Safety, GMP & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure the workplace is safe before facility or operational activities begin.
• Ensure facility activities comply with relevant statutory regulations, company procedures, equipment manufacturer guidelines, and applicable standards.
• Maintain team and work-area compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
• Support high standards of maintenance, housekeeping, and operational safety.

5. Team Supervision & Development

• Supervise facility personnel and support effective work allocation and personnel administration within company policy.
• Provide relevant training and development to improve job knowledge and workforce flexibility.
• Promote clear communication, accountability, proactive problem-solving, and teamwork within the facility function.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with 1 to 2 years of relevant facility management or pharmaceutical equipment experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of facility troubleshooting, repair, utilities, and maintenance practices.
