Edge Design & Contracts Sdn Bhd (842728-X) is seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor Executive with a background in M&E cost management to join our team in Puchong, Selangor. You will manage budgets, prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and tender documents for M&E works.

The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, a degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, and strong knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, cost estimating, and budgeting.
• Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor project budgets and cost plans for M&E works.
• Carry out quantity take-off and measurement for M&E works.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, quotations, and tender documents for M&E works.
• Prepare professional quotations independently by calculating costs based on drawings, quantities, materials, labour, and project requirements.
• Conduct independent cost evaluation and pricing to ensure quotations are accurate and competitive.
• Be familiar with Schedule of Unit Rates (SOR) and relevant technical data, specifications, and pricing references for M&E works.
• Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate against costs.
• Track project costs and report cost variances against the approved budget.
• Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO) with costing and documentation.
• Prepare, review, and monitor progress claims, payment applications, and subcontractor claims for M&E works.
• Assist in the preparation, review, and administration of subcontract agreements and project-related contracts.
• Work with the project team to manage contract changes and variations to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, expenses, payments, claims, variations, and other commercial documentation.
• Prepare regular cost reports and financial updates for projects.

• Conduct site visits when required to verify M&E works, quantities, progress, and variations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and assist in resolving commercial and contractual issues related to M&E works.
• Assist in preparing reports for management on project progress, cost status, claims, cash flow, and financial matters.
• Ensure all contract documents, cost records, claims, measurements, and supporting documents are accurate and up to date.
• Support the project team in cost control, procurement, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform any other M&E Quantity Surveying and commercial duties assigned by the management.
