Job summary

LONGMOTIVE (M) SDN.BHD. is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage costs, contracts and commercial matters on construction projects in Malaysia. You will oversee budgets, prepare BOQs, and provide expert guidance to project teams to ensure on-time delivery.

About the role

Join the dynamic team at LONGMOTIVE (M) SDN.BHD. as a Quantity Surveyor, where you will play a crucial role in managing the commercial aspects of construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing costs, contracts, and providing expert advice to ensure the successful delivery of projects in the Johor Bahru region. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our Construction business.

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects
• Negotiating and administering contracts with suppliers, subcontractors and other stakeholders
• Monitoring project budgets and costs, identifying potential savings and efficiencies
• Providing expert advice and guidance to project teams on contractual and commercial matters
• Preparing and processing payment certificates, variations, and final accounts
• Assisting with the resolution of contractual disputes and claims
• Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects

What we’re looking for

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the Construction industry, specialised in MEP.
• Excellent understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project control procedures
• Proficient in the use of relevant software, such as estimating and project management tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders
