Private Advertiser in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This full-time role manages contracts, costs, and financial aspects of construction projects to ensure on-time delivery within budget and to high standards.

You will prepare cost estimates and tender documents, monitor budgets, process claims, and negotiate terms with contractors. The ideal candidate has a degree in Quantity Surveying or related field and at least five years of experience.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, a leading industrial development and construction company based in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing contracts, costs, and financial aspects of construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This position is fundamental to our project delivery excellence and directly impacts the profitability and success of our construction initiatives.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects
• Managing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring costs remain within approved allocations
• Analysing and processing contractor claims, variations, and change orders with thorough documentation
• Preparing interim valuations and final accounts for project completion
• Negotiating with contractors and suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and favourable terms
• Maintaining comprehensive project records, contracts, and financial documentation
• Liaising between clients, contractors, architects, and engineers to resolve commercial and contractual matters
• Advising project teams on contractual obligations, procurement strategies, and cost management best practices
• Ensuring full compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

What we're looking for

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the construction industry
• Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
• Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools, such as estimating, cost management, and project management software
