Job summary

A leading retail firm in Petaling Jaya is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to lead the end-to-end design process. You'll coordinate with various teams, prepare tender documentation, and ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining design standards. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in Architecture or Interior Design, with at least 3 years of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software. Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are required.

Job description

Lead and manage theend-to-end design processfrom space planning, conceptual design, detailed drawings, presentation materials, through to project completion and as-built drawings.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams includingReal Estate, Fit-Out, QS, Procurement, and Space Management, ensuring project requirements and design standards are fully met.

Preparetender drawings and documentationin line with project specifications and timelines.

Providedaily and weekly progress reportsto the superior, ensuring all projects remain on schedule and within scope.

Attendsite meetings and inspectionswhen required to oversee design execution and resolve on-site issues.

Work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, maintaining accuracy, creativity, and attention to detail.

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in interior design, preferably in the retail or commercial sector.

Proficient in design and technical software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong ability in hand sketching for quick concept visualization.

Good knowledge of space planning, conceptual design, detailed drawings, and tender documentation.

Excellent coordination skills with cross-functional teams such as Real Estate, Fit-Out, QS, Procurement, and contractors.

Strong time management and reporting skills, with the ability to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
