Job summary

MKS Inc. is seeking a Senior HR Generalist in Penang, Malaysia to partner with all departments and manage daily HR operations across the employee lifecycle.

You will handle recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations, ensuring policy compliance and a positive employee experience. You will maintain HR data accuracy, contribute to HR projects, and support payroll, compensation, and benefits administration while reporting to the HR Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years of related HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and labor relations.
• Experience handling disciplinary actions, investigations and grievances.
• Unionized environment experience is an advantage.

Job description

As a Senior HR Generalist, you will partner with all department to managing daily HR operations and executing key people processes across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations. The role serves as a primary point of contact for employees, ensuring effective HR service delivery, policy compliance and a positive employee experience. Additionally, the Senior HR Generalist maintains accurate HR data, contributes to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will report to the HR Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Manage employee conduct, industrial relations matters, workforce compliance, and employee engagement while ensuring adherence to Malaysian employment laws.
• Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.
• Ensures compliance with HR policies and local labor laws.
• Works closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development at the business unit or division level.
• Assists management in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process-oriented perspectives.
• Supports in executing HR strategies and daily operations.
• Manages end-to-end employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, documentation).
• Assists in recruitment processes including coordination and candidate management.
• Acts as first point of contact for employee queries and HR support.
• Supports performance management and talent development activities.
• Coordinates training and learning initiatives.
• Assists in payroll, compensation, and benefits administration.
• Maintains accurate HR records and HRIS data.
• Prepares HR reports and supports HR analytics.
• Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives.
