Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Malaysia to install, service and relocate semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will perform start-up, preventive maintenance, and on-site support to ensure minimal downtime and peak performance.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, customer interaction, and flexibility for international travel and shift work, with hybrid on-site and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years experience; or Master's with 3+ years; or equivalent.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Able to work swing shifts (Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu).
• Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical schematics and manuals.
• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment is a plus.
• Strong customer focus and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and relocate equipment at customer sites, perform start-up and checkout.
• Provide on-site preventive maintenance and warranty/paid service support.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions; escalate as needed.
• Implement engineering changes and ECO-driven updates.
• Maintain service records and logs accurately.
