Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Kulim, Malaysia. You will be on the frontline supporting customers, installing and maintaining Lam equipment, and collaborating with global teams to resolve complex issues.

The role requires frequent travel and willingness to work varied shifts, including potential overseas assignments. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree, strong communication skills, and the ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with no previous professional experience or equivalent work experience.
• Graduate eligible role.
• Self-starter who can work independently and grow with the company.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to engage customers on technical solutions.
• Willing to support short term, overseas assignment.
• Able to work swing shifts (Tue–Sat and/or Sun–Thu).
• Proficient in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics/diagrams/manuals.
• Able to work in a clean room with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Install or relocate equipment at customer sites and perform startup and checkout activities.
• Provide on-site preventive maintenance and warranty/paid service support.
• Coordinate service actions with customers to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions; replace components as needed.
• Apply ECO updates and field modifications to equipment.
• Carry out Tier 2 process qualification work.
• Maintain logs, service records, and diagnostics updates.
