Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Penang to perform installation, relocation, startup, and preventive maintenance of Lam etch, clean, and deposition equipment at customer sites. The role involves on-site service, regional and international travel, and coordinating with multiple teams to deliver effective solutions.

You will troubleshoot, perform startup, and contribute to 24/7 standby duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with no previous professional experience or equivalent.
• Graduate eligible role.
• Self-starter with ability to learn and grow with the company.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to travel frequently (90% travel to regions like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, US).
• Willing to support short-term, overseas assignment.

Responsibilities

• Install or relocate equipment at customers’ sites and perform startup and checkout activities.
• Provide on-site preventive maintenance and repair for Lam equipment; coordinate service actions with customers.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine corrective actions; replace defective parts when needed.
• Implement ECOs and field modifications as released by Engineering.
• Prepare and maintain service records, logs, and diagnostic updates.
• Represent the company professionally to customers and manage relationships during service contracts.
