Job summary

Senior Executive HR & General Administration at Misto Malaysia is responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations with a focus on retail recruitment, policy development, employee relations, onboarding and training administration.

You will handle high-volume recruitment for retail store staff, develop and maintain HR policies and employment contracts in compliance with Malaysian labour laws, and support disciplinary matters while ensuring accurate HR records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.
• Working knowledge of the Employment Act 1955, Minimum Wages Order, and statutory contributions.
• Experience drafting employment contracts and supporting disciplinary procedures.

Job Summary

Responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations, with a key focus on retail recruitment, HR policy development, employee relations, onboarding and training administration. The role includes handling high-volume recruitment for retail store staff, developing and maintaining HR policies and employment contracts in compliance with Malaysian labour laws, supporting disciplinary and grievance matters, coordinating employee onboarding and HRD Corp training programmes, and maintaining accurate HR records, systems and management reports in accordance with company policies and PDPA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Store Staff Hiring

• Plan and execute high-volume recruitment for retail store staff, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and onboarding, with support for new store openings and seasonal manpower needs.
• Manage job postings on JobStreet and other channels, and coordinate with recruitment agencies when required

HR Policy & Employee Relations

• Develop, update and communicate HR policies, SOPs and the Employee Handbook in line with the Employment Act 1955 and other applicable Malaysian labour laws.
• Prepare and maintain employment contracts for store staff (full-time, part-time and fixed-term), and develop store workforce policies covering shift scheduling, overtime, public holiday work and leave.
• Support management in disciplinary and grievance matters, including Show Cause Letters and Domestic Inquiry documentation, following natural justice principles.
• Monitor changes in labour legislation and propose timely policy updates.

Learning & Onboarding

• Coordinate the onboarding programme for new employees.
• Support HRD Corp scheme utilisation and training administration, and track training completion rates.

HR Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate HR records and the HR system in line with PDPA 2010, and prepare regular HR reports for management and the Korea head office.

Job Requirement & Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field preferred.
• 5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.
• Working knowledge of the Employment Act 1955, Minimum Wages Order and statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS).
• Hands-on experience drafting employment contracts and supporting disciplinary procedures.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with store teams and senior management.
• Strong ownership mentality, comfortable working independently in a lean, fast-moving environment.
• Discretion and attention to detail when handling confidential employee data.
• Experience in retail, fashion or sports industry, or in new store opening hiring, is a strong advantage.
