Fortuna Multi-Serve (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Executive - Forwarding & Customs Clearance to join our Import/Export & Customs team in Klang, Selangor. You will manage end-to-end clearance processes, coordinate forwarding activities, and liaise with authorities to ensure compliance and timely shipments.
The role requires at least 5 years in customs clearance or forwarding, with strong knowledge of regulations, HS codes, and tariff calculations.

Responsibilities

- Monitor freight costs and negotiate rates with logistics partners

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Fortuna Multi-Serve (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Executive - Forwarding & Customs Clearance to join our growing Import/Export & Customs team. This is a full‑time position based in Klang, Selangor, where you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing forwarding operations and customs clearance activities. This position is strategically important to our business, as it directly impacts our clients' ability to move goods efficiently across borders whilst maintaining full compliance with customs regulations and international trade requirements.

- Managing end-to-end customs clearance processes for import and export shipments, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws
- Overseeing forwarding operations and coordinating with shipping lines, airlines, and transport providers to ensure timely movement of goods
- Liaising with customs authorities and government agencies to resolve clearance issues and obtain necessary permits and approvals
- Managing client relationships and providing regular updates on shipment status, ensuring transparency and exceptional customer service
- Monitoring and optimising freight costs, negotiating rates with logistics partners, and identifying opportunities for operational efficiency
- Training, supervising and supporting junior staff within the forwarding and customs clearance team
- Ensuring all shipments comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to the goods being transported
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation for audit purposes and regulatory compliance
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce clearance delays
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in customs clearance, forwarding operations, or import/export logistics
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements in Malaysia and international trade practices
- Familiarity with customs management systems and logistics software platforms
- Excellent understanding of HS codes, tariff classifications, and duty calculations
- Proven ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, customs officials, and logistics partners
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with customs clearance software
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in customs brokerage, forwarding, or logistics (preferred)
- Fluency in English and Malay; proficiency in other languages is an advantage
