Job summary

Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara is seeking a finance professional to perform and review bank reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and support monthly management accounts and tax compliance. The role involves asset management, ageing reporting, and internal control initiatives within a busy hospital finance team.

The ideal candidate holds a Degree or Diploma in Accountancy with at least 3 years of relevant experience, and will liaise with auditors, tax agents and internal departments to

Responsibilities

• Perform and review bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy of descriptions, amounts, dates, cost centres and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules within the reporting timeline.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, including additions, disposals, transfers and monthly depreciation calculations.
• Prepare and maintain the monthly management accounts template, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and notes with accurate Trial Balance linkage.
• Prepare and review debtors' and creditors' ageing reports, highlighting overdue balances for follow-up.
• Ensure accurate application of GL account codes, cost centres and SST tax codes.
• Prepare and submit SST returns accurately and within the statutory deadline.
• Manage e-Invoicing requirements, including the preparation and review of tax invoices, debit notes, credit notes and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate and perform monthly stock closing and related reconciliations.
• Prepare and issue debit notes, credit notes and tax invoices.
• Maintain and update monthly Fixed Deposit schedules and related reconciliations.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and audit schedules.
• Support taxation, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as assigned.
• Liaise with internal departments, external auditors, tax agents and regulatory authorities on finance-related matters.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of internal controls and finance initiatives.
• Assist the superior in supervising and guiding junior finance team members where required.
• Support Accounts Payable and Treasury functions, including payment processing, cash management and related reconciliations.
• Perform any other duties, ad-hoc assignments and projects as assigned by Management.
