Exyte Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to support design, engineering, coordination, and execution of electrical systems for high-tech facilities, semiconductor fabs, data centers, and life sciences projects.
You will deliver solutions through the full project lifecycle from concept to handover, lead discipline activities, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local regulations.
Exyte is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, engineering, coordination, and execution of electrical systems for high-tech facilities, semiconductor manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical facilities, life sciences projects, data centers, and advanced manufacturing facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design and detailed engineering to construction support, commissioning, and project handover. The role requires strong technical expertise, multidisciplinary coordination, and experience in Design & Build project execution.
Develop and review electrical engineering designs for industrial and commercial projects.
Prepare single-line diagrams, load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, protection coordination studies, and power system layouts.
Design and coordinate electrical systems including:
High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems
Low Voltage (LV) distribution systems
Transformers and substations
Standby generators and emergency power systems
UPS systems
Power distribution boards and switchgear
Lighting and emergency lighting systems
Earthing and lightning protection systems
Power monitoring systems
Prepare technical specifications, engineering calculations, reports, schedules, and construction drawings.
Ensure compliance with client requirements, Malaysian regulations, IEC standards, and industry best practices.
Support projects through all phases including conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Coordinate closely with mechanical, process, civil & structural, architectural, and ELV/I&C teams.
Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, value engineering studies, and client meetings.
Review vendor technical submissions, equipment specifications, and shop drawings.
Manage engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with project schedule and budget.
Provide technical support during construction and installation activities.
Review RFIs, method statements, testing procedures, and as-built documentation.
Conduct site inspections and verify compliance with approved designs and specifications.
Resolve technical issues arising during construction and startup phases.
Support contractor and subcontractor coordination activities.
Lead discipline engineering activities on assigned projects.
Mentor junior engineers and designers.
Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance on complex engineering challenges.
Drive technical excellence and engineering innovation within the team.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Master's Degree is an advantage.
Electrical Engineer
Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, commercial, or data center projects preferred.
Senior Electrical Engineer
Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
Proven experience in Design & Build, EPC, or EPCM projects.
Experience in semiconductor, advanced technology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, cleanroom, or data center facilities is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and building services design.
Experience with:
HV/LV power systems
Electrical protection systems
Standby power generation
UPS and critical power systems
Lighting design
Earthing and lightning protection systems
Power quality analysis
Familiarity with local and international standards including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and Malaysian regulations.
Proficiency in engineering software such as:
ETAP
SKM Power Tools
AutoCAD
Revit MEP
Navisworks
BIM 360
Dialux
Registered Graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Membership with IEM or equivalent professional institution.
Experience in BIM-based project delivery.
Experience in mission-critical facilities, cleanrooms, semiconductor fabs, pharmaceutical plants, or data centers is a strong advantage.
