Exyte Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems for data center infrastructure in Cyberjaya. You will coordinate with electrical, controls, and other disciplines to ensure integrated, safe, and compliant solutions.
The role focuses on cooling systems, redundancy, and performance, driving design deliverables from concept through construction while supporting fast-track project execution.
Lead the design, development, coordination, and delivery of mechanical systems for mission-critical data center and fast-track projects. Ensure mechanical solutions meet redundancy and reliability requirements, comply with project specifications, codes, and standards, and are executed safely with minimal risk to live operations.
Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for data center infrastructure including chilled water plants, cooling towers, pumps, piping systems, CRAH/CRAC units, air-side systems, containment systems, and ventilation systems.
Ensure cooling system designs meet data center redundancy, resiliency, and uptime requirements (e.g., N+1, 2N configurations).
Perform cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, system selection, and hydraulic analysis for chilled water and HVAC systems.
Develop mechanical design deliverables including design reports, calculations, schematics, equipment layouts, and system diagrams.
Prepare and review technical specifications and ensure alignment with project performance requirements.
Coordinate mechanical design with electrical, controls, structural, architectural, and civil disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible solutions.
Work closely with controls engineers to ensure proper integration of HVAC equipment with BMS and monitoring systems.
Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and constructability reviews to optimize system performance and cost.
Ensure design compliance with relevant codes, standards, and data center best practices
Manage mechanical design deliverables across all project phases including concept design, detailed design, and construction documentation.
Support fast-track project execution by prioritizing design deliverables and resolving technical issues promptly.
Review vendor submittals, shop drawings, and equipment selections to ensure compliance with design intent.
Provide technical support to procurement and construction teams during project execution.
Ensure all mechanical designs meet reliability, maintainability, and operational requirements for data center facilities.
Identify potential design risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes, and international standards.
Maintain high standards of documentation, quality assurance, and safety in engineering deliverables.
