Senior Customs Clearance Specialist – Port Klang (Night)

Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an experienced specialist to manage end-to-end customs clearance activities at Port Klang. You will ensure compliance with regulations and coordinate with customs, port authorities, and internal stakeholders.

The role requires minimum 3 years in freight forwarding and customs declaration background, with flexibility for night shifts and public holidays. Based in Port Klang, Selangor.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with declarant on preparation of Customs & ZB/FZ declarations (K1, K2, K3, K8, K9, ZB1,ZB2,ZB3,ZB4)
• Monitor vendor performance on timeliness, accuracy, and responsiveness
• Validate draft declarations before submission to customs by ensuring accurate entry information
• Track and ensure all CS instructions are executed & actioned within SLA timeline
• Monitor myCIEDS submission status & maintain visibility of shipment status from instruction to clearance
• Coordinate with runner colleague on manual clearance submission & clearance delivery planning
• Handle amendment, cancellation letter preparation & query from customs or OGA promptly
• Manage customs duties & taxes payment process & monitoring COR/CRD documents upload completeness in CW1
• Communicate with internal team on shipment status progress
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, company & customer SOP
• Monitor clearance progress and resolve exceptions proactively
• Coordinate with port terminal, Customs, OGA and related authorities at PKG on clearance
• Track KPIs such as turnaround time, accuracy, milestone, document upload completeness and SLA compliance
• Support process improvement, KPI tracking & automation or digital initiative
• Preparing customer reporting & conducting random post entry audit
• Provide operational backup support and perform other assigned duties (ie runner activities & processing declaration filling when required)
