Job summary

KMWE Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines according to engineering drawings and production specs.

You will change tools, adjust feeds and speeds, troubleshoot issues, and perform in-process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and vision systems. Safety and 5S adherence are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Precision Machining / Manufacturing / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering or related fields or minimum 3 to 5 years of related experiences.
• Knowledge in operating 3-axis, 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and technical drawings.
• Good mathematical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to use common measuring instruments and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines according to drawings, programs, and production specifications.

• Communicate production output status with CNC Programmers, Machinists and Supervisors; ensure smooth workflow during shift changes.
• Report defective machine, equipment, materials or faulty operations to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Job description

Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines according to engineering drawings, programs, and production specifications.

Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.

Troubleshoot machine performance, quality defects and delays promptly.

Perform in-process quality check on partially finished and finished parts using designated measuring equipment and devices such as calipers, micrometers, height/thread/pin gauges, vision measuring machine and other measuring equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.

Use prescribed procedures to inspect parts.

Perform cutter adjustments with tool offset, geometry offset or physical sizing of boring bars at the machine.

Communicate well and update production output status with CNC Programmers, Machinists and Supervisors. Ensure smooth workflow during shift changes.

Report defective machine, equipment, materials or any faulty operations to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Setup CNC machines before start of job for Junior level machinists, and give troubleshooting support for them, and with guidance.

Follow safety, clean and 5S requirements. Ensure machines, tools, and work areas are safely maintained.
