Pivotal Systems (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop and optimize programs for milling and turning. You will set up machines, select tooling and parameters, and ensure parts meet drawings and GD&T tolerances.
The role requires 3+ years in CNC programming with proficiency in G-code/M-code and CAD/CAM tools such as Mastercam, NX CAM, or Fusion 360. Collaboration across Production, Quality, and Engineering is essential.
Develop, modify, verify, and optimize CNC programs for both CNC milling and CNC turning machines based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and production requirements.
Set up and program CNC milling and turning machines to ensure accurate, efficient, and repeatable machining processes.
Select suitable cutting tools, tool holders, inserts, fixtures, and machining parameters to achieve optimum productivity, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy.
Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, GD&T, and machining specifications to ensure compliance with dimensional and quality requirements.
Perform CAM programming and CNC code optimization to improve machining efficiency, reduce cycle time, and maximize tool life.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues to minimize downtime, scrap, and production delays.
Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to improve machining processes and resolve technical issues.
Conduct machining trials, first article inspections (FAI), and process validation for new and existing products.
Monitor machining performance and recommend continuous improvements in machining methods, tooling, fixtures, and cycle time optimization.
Develop and maintain CNC program documentation, setup sheets, tooling lists, machining instructions, and process records.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process development, and production ramp-up activities.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
Provide technical guidance and support to CNC machinists, machine operators, and technicians regarding machining methods, setups, and program execution.
Coordinate with tooling suppliers and vendors on cutting tools, fixtures, and machining solutions.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC programming for milling and turning operations.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, including milling, turning, cutting tools, workholding, and machining strategies.
Proficient in CNC programming, including G-code/M-code editing and optimization.
Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, NX CAM, Fusion 360, Edgecam, or similar).
Able to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, machining tolerances, and 3D CAD models.
Familiar with CNC machine setup, tooling selection, fixture design, and process optimization.
Experience in cycle time reduction, machining troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and productivity enhancement.
Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and manufacturing documentation is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for communicating with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet production deadlines.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
