Job summary

Great Eastern in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to bridge business stakeholders and IT teams, translating needs into scalable IT solutions for Insurance Operations. You will analyze end-to-end processes, elicit requirements, and convert them into functional specs that align with enterprise architecture and regulatory standards.

The role requires extensive SDLC experience, strong stakeholder management, and ability to lead cross-functional discussions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in Business Analysis or IT-related roles.
• Comprehensive exposure to the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with end-to-end project implementations.
• Hands-on experience collaborating with technical teams in system design, development, and integration.
• Adept at translating business requirements into technical deliverables and working with developers, architects, and testers.
• Insurance industry experience is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyse, and document detailed business, functional, and interface requirements.
• Evaluate and prioritize requirements based on business value, feasibility, dependencies, and regulatory objectives.
• Strong experience in stakeholders, scope and change management, managing scope creep and complex requests.
• Reengineer and optimize business processes, rules, and workflows to improve efficiency and customer experience.
• Conduct requirement walkthroughs with business stakeholders and development teams; prepare high quality docs for review and sign-off.
• Define current and future operational scenarios, processes, data mappings, and use cases addressing business needs.
• Prepare test scenarios and tests, execute SIT, validate system behaviour, and support UAT.
• Provide production support including issue triage and coordinating resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to secure alignment and drive implementation success.
• Demonstrate accountability for regulatory, compliance, and operational risks.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to strengthen solution design and safeguards.
• Identify and escalate risks early, promoting proactive mitigation.
