Job summary

Galactic Network in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks an experienced Business Analyst / System Analyst / Product Owner to define requirements across projects from high-level journeys to detailed specifications. You will gather, model, and validate processes and data, partnering with technology teams and stakeholders to drive successful delivery.

Requires 8–10+ years in relevant roles, experience in insurance domains, and proficiency with Agile and Waterfall methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 8–10+ years in BA/System Analyst/Product Owner roles on development or process-improvement projects.
• Experience in General and/or Life insurance domains.

Responsibilities

• Define business scope from high-level journeys to detailed requirements and data specs.
• Prepare and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders.
• Model as-is and to-be processes and data flows; ensure traceability.
• Collaborate with tech teams to define scope, plan, and risk assessments.
• Lead test design, planning, and support UAT/change-management activities.
• Manage post-implementation issues and continuous improvement actions.
• Apply SCRUM or Waterfall delivery methodologies as appropriate.

Definescope and manage business requirements for assigned projectsfrom high level user journeys to detailed functionalrequirements for system development/enhancement or processimprovement throughout the project lifecycle.

• Plan,prepare and conduct/facilitate sessions for businessrequirements gathering and ensure requirementsspecifications/project deliverables are produced withquality on timely basis.
• Prepareand present/propose to stakeholders as-is and to-be modelsrelevant to project scope, including modelling processflow/system flow, defining functional requirements &data specifications and system integrations logics, as partof the requirements specifications documentation/user storypreparation process with consideration to optimize userjourney and enhance user experience where feasible.
• Identifyfunctional improvement & technical development areas andideate & define to-be model / solution design withtechnical teams.
• Developand maintain requirement traceability matrix and prioritizerequirements with stakeholders with alignment to projectobjectives and timeline.
• Collaboratewith project manager and technology team to define projectscope, develop high-level project plan and perform risk assessment.
• Performquality review checks on project deliverables from projectteams where required.
• Designtest scope & develop test plans, manage/perform andsupport testing, and conduct training/change management activities.
• Managepost implementation activities including incidentresolution/problem solving with root cause analysis,stakeholder engagement activities, lessons learnt forimprovement, etc.
• Adaptand apply appropriate delivery methodologies such as SCRUMor Waterfall, where assessed to be best suited for thespecific project.
  

Requirements

Required

• Bachelor’sdegree in Business IT, Business Information Systems, ITManagement, Computing, Business Administration or related fields.
• Minimum8-10 or more years’ experience in a Business Analyst /System Analyst / Product Owner role in systemdevelopment/delivery or process improvement projects.
• Experiencein General and/or Life insurance with in-depth understandingof insurance products and processes.
• Experiencein Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Goodunderstanding of project management, requirements analysis& solution design, system testing, implementation/changemanagement, stakeholder management best practices,techniques and approaches.
• Proficiencywith Ms Visio or other process modelling tools, JIRA,Confluence and other tools for project/system delivery.

Preferred

• Strongprocess modelling, analytical/numeracy, problem-solving andsystem design skills.
• Experiencein digital transformation or system/platform modernizationprojects in General and/or Life insurance.

• Direct exposure to the regulated industries projects, such as FSI.
