Job summary

Olympia Industries Berhad is seeking a Senior Accounts Executive – Team Lead to guide GL, AR and AP functions within the Group Finance Team in Kuala Lumpur. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive month-end close, and support finance transformation initiatives.

You will lead a finance team, ensure accuracy of financial data, and provide meaningful insights for management decisions while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• ACCA / MIA / CPA is an added advantage.
• Experience in GL / RTR / AR / AP / Financial Accounting.
• Experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial closing and reconciliation processes.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.

Senior Accounts Executive – Team Lead (GL / AR & AP)

We are seeking experienced and dynamic Senior Accounts Executives – Team Leads to join our Group Finance Team. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading and supervising their respective accounting team while supporting day-to-to-day finance operations, month end closing, financial reporting, process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Support the Group Financial Controller and Finance Manager in the day-to-day management of finance operations.

Lead, supervise and support the respective GL/ AR & AP team to achieve Finance targets and service- level commitments.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timelines of accounting transactions and financial data.

Manage end - to - end Record-to-Report (RTR) activities and ensure accurate financial results in accordance with approved accounting policies and SOPs.

Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and accounting adjustments.

Perform and review General Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.

Prepare financial reports, management reporting packs, supporting schedules and account analyses.

Perform variance analysis and provide meaningful financial insights to support management decision-making.

Manage fixed asset accounting, intercompany accounting and reconciliations.

Prepare relevant SST, GST, VAT, withholding tax (WHT) and other indirect tax reports, where applicable.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Support internal and external audits and respond to auditor queries in a timely manner.

Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps and manual processes and drive improvements in efficiency, accuracy and service quality.

Participate in finance transformation, ERP enhancements, system migration and process redesign and automation projects.

Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation and internal control procedures.

Work closely with cross-functional teams including GL, AR, AP, Treasury, Tax and business stakeholders.

Ensure service delivery commitments are achieved in accordance with agreed SLAs and KPIs under the ESM framework.

Undertake other finance projects and assignments as required by Management.

About you

Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, MIA or CPA will be an added advantage.

Relevant experience in GL / RTR / AR / AP / Financial Accounting.

Experience in a team lead or supervisory role will be an advantage.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial closing and reconciliation processes.

Experience with ERP / accounting systems and Microsoft Office.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Good leadership and people management skills.

Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.
