Private Advertiser in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a senior accounting leader to head daily operations, verify and record transactions, and ensure compliance with policies and statutory requirements.

You will mentor a team in AR/AP, expense claims, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while collaborating with business units to ensure data accuracy and actionable insights for management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • ACCA, CPA, or MIA qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in full-set accounts, general ledger, monthly closing, and financial statement preparation.
  • Hands-on experience in annual audit management, liaising with external auditors and regulators.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and IFRS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle; Kingdee or Yonyou is an added advantage.
  • Experience in courier, logistics, or transportation industry preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the company’s daily accounting operations, ensuring all payment and receipt transactions are verified, recorded accurately, and compliant with financial policies and statutory requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Accounts Executives, guiding them in AR/AP management, expense claims processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Review and approve employee expense reimbursement claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and tax regulations.
  • Monitor and manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including follow-ups on outstanding balances and resolution of abnormal aging items.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data by working closely with business departments and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide financial insights and data support to management, enabling informed business decisions and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee preparation and posting of monthly accruals, provisions, and cost allocations, ensuring proper revenue and expense matching under accrual accounting principles.
  • Lead monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring timely reconciliations, financial analysis, and preparation of accurate financial reports.
  • Consolidate and review financial and management reports in line with group reporting timelines, delivering key insights to senior management.
  • Drive process improvements by actively identifying opportunities to optimize internal financial workflows, enhance reporting quality, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth audit completion and compliance.
  • Take ownership of special finance projects, including system upgrades, automation initiatives, and strategic financial analysis.
  • Perform other leadership duties as assigned by senior management.

Job description

Requirements
