The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance with 3–5 years of accounting experience, and proficiency in SQL Accounting and MS Word/Excel.

Job description

Senior Account Executive is responsible for overseeing the overall Finance & Accounts operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL). The role involves leading and developing the finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing cash flow and collections, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, coordinating audits, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and implementing effective financial controls and process improvements to support operational efficiency and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance & Accounts Department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

Lead, supervise and develop the Finance team, including work allocation, performance monitoring, training, coaching and mentoring of staff to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of deadlines.

Review and finalize monthly management accounts, financial statements, reports and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely submission to management and clients.

Collaborate with senior management to develop, implement and improve accounting policies, procedures, SOPs and internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Oversee payment processes and financial controls, including review of payment vouchers, supporting documents, approvals, bank reconciliations and online payment processes.

Monitor cash flow, bank balances and receivables, including maintenance charges, sinking fund and other outstanding amounts, and ensure timely follow-up on collections.

Act as a liaison between clients, Management Offices, and the Finance team, addressing financial queries, resolving accounting issues and providing appropriate financial guidance.

Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents and relevant statutory authorities to facilitate audits and ensure timely compliance with tax and statutory requirements.

Oversee tax and statutory matters, including SST, income tax matters, e-Invoicing and other applicable regulatory requirements, and ensure necessary submissions and records are properly maintained.

Prepare financial reports and presentations for management meetings, committee meetings and AGMs, and provide explanations and recommendations on financial performance and significant financial matters.

About you

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in financial principles

At least 3 years to 5 years of accounting experience

Competent in using SQL Accounting and Microsoft Word/Excel

Good command of English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin speaking is advantage

Organized, analytical and able to meet tight deadlines, thriving in a fast-paced environment
