Job summary

HLH Building & Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Account Executive to strengthen the Finance & Accounts team in Kuala Lumpur. The role focuses on hands‑on day‑to‑day accounting, timely financial reporting, and supporting project cost management across Malaysia.

The candidate should have a Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related fields with 3–5 years in accounting, preferably in construction or contracting environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience handling full set of accounts is preferred.
• Construction, contracting or interior fit‑out experience will be an advantage.
• Familiar with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Xero will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts and day‑to‑day accounting operations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Monitor customer collections and outstanding receivables.
• Prepare supplier and subcontractor payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Monitor company and project cash flow.
• Maintain project‑related income and expenditure records.
• Coordinate closely with the Commercial/QS team on progress claims, customer certifications, retention, variation claims, subcontractor claims and project cost information.
• Prepare ageing reports and actively follow up overdue accounts.

We are looking for someone who is hands‑on, organised and able to manage day‑to‑day accounts while providing management with timely and accurate financial information. Experience in the construction, interior fit‑out or contracting industry will be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

Handle full set of accounts and day-to-day accounting operations

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

Monitor customer collections and outstanding receivables

Prepare supplier and subcontractor payments

Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records

Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports

About you
