Job summary

Eastern Suntech Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd in Kedah is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the full set of accounts, focusing on General Ledger and financial reporting. You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports, and support month-end and year-end closes.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, strong MFRS knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; ACCA/CPA adds advantage.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience with GL and financial reporting exposure.
• Construction industry experience is a plus with strong knowledge of MFRS and statutory compliance.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems; strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts with primary responsibility for General Ledger and financial reporting.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Review and reconcile General Ledger, bank accounts, and balance sheet schedules.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Assist in budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
• Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and other external stakeholders when required.
• Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by Management.

Skills And Experience Required

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. (Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are an added advantage.)

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with strong General Ledger (GL) and financial reporting exposure.

Experience in the construction industry is an added advantage.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and statutory compliance.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
